Most of the articles on these WebPages have been written by godly men with a central belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. However as with most of us, they may have different beliefs concerning some particular doctrines. These articles have been made available for the purpose of “gleaning the good” where good can be found. I do not necessarily endorse all that is written by others, anymore than I expect others to endorse all that I write.

Morning Thoughts by Elder Philip Conley

Lamentations 3:21-23, "This I recall to mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

This morning, we can recall something to mind and hope in. Every morning is new and fresh, not because we are newer or fresher. Rather, we are getting older and more frail every single day that we live. The
only way that the morning is new and fresh is because the Lord's mercies are that way. We have a God whose storehouse is never empty or even less than full. His storehouse is always full, because His mercies are new every morning.

It is important also to understand that we would not make it through a single day without Him. Without the help of the Lord, we cannot do anything. All of our efforts would be miserable and failing. But, even when we are at our most critical point, He is still with us. Even when we are pressing the dying pillow, He is holding our hand and walking through the valley of the shadow of death and into the gates of heaven with us. He is faithful, and His faithfulness is great. Therefore, we have no one or nothing to fear, for He is with us; He is our
strength.

Sometimes, I hear folks get down in the dumps because they feel like we do not have the numbers on our side. They feel like we are getting to be a smaller and smaller minority. However, if the Lord is on our side, then we are in the greatest majority, and who can be against us? Also, the Lord does not change His mind about His people. He does not decide to be our God depending on how He feels in the morning. He changes not, and therefore, we are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6) In this we can have hope until that blessed morning when there will no longer be a need for hope. Faith and hope will pass away and all that will remain is charity through all of eternity with our blessed Saviour and Heavenly Father.

In Hope,

Bro Philip
