Psalm 148:6, "He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass."

This morning, the only thing that endures is the things of the Lord. What we see on a daily basis that we consider
the ordinances of nature are decreed such by the Lord of Glory. When the sun rises in the east, sets in the west,
the moon and stars appear in the twilight sky, and the patterns of the earth appear in their course, it all happens
because the Lord has established them. These "signs" in nature comfort us and show us that the Lord still rules
and reigns on His throne. If the devil could stop these ordinances, he would, for that would nullify the promises
and statutes of God. But, they shall never pass away until the Lord Himself appears to declare the end of this
world.

The decrees of the Lord do not change. They change not, because He changes not. He does not turn aside to the
right or to the left based on what "mood" He is in each day. When an earthly king makes a decree, it may or may
not stand due to a number of factors. Some of these include: 1. He has not the power to enforce it among the
people, 2. another king keeps him from it, or 3. he dies before the decree is kept. All of these things do not affect
the Lord. He does not have difficulty in enforcing His decrees among the inhabitants of the kingdom. He has set the bounds
that we must live in. If we abide within the bounds of the Lord, He has promised to smile upon us and ultimately
keep us from evil. If we transgress the bounds that He has established, He has promised to punish us as a Father
punishes His children.

Therefore, we cannot keep the decrees of the Lord from standing fast. There is no king in earth that is stronger than
the King. Some people in the world today mistakenly think that the devil and the Lord battle every day, and due to
who wins the day will be revealed based on whether we see good or bad in this world. If such be the case, then the
devil must be stronger than the Lord because of all the evil that we see on a daily basis. However, we should not
consider the devil in the same thought as the Lord, for there is none like our God. He alone is the sovereign ruler
of HIS universe. No power on heaven, earth, or under the earth can keep Him from bringing to pass what He
purposes to do.

Lastly, the Lord will not die before keeping His decrees, for as an eternal Being, He does not die. Even when the
body of Jesus Christ lay in the grave for three days and three nights, the Lord was still on His throne ruling and
reigning. When one sees wicked things happen in this world, let us never even consider that such is a decree of
the Lord.
He decrees the end consequence of unrighteousness, but He never decrees unrighteousness. Therefore, in all things (without
exception), the decrees of the Lord stand fast both now and forever.Button back to previous
